Oprah Winfrey Triumphs.  ‘All good things come to an end’ so the saying goes and now the ‘breaking news’ on Oprah’s decision to close ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ come 2011; and so it goes. But Oprah is like royalty; and proud of her African-American heritage. She is a woman of achievement, influence, perseverance and commitment. Her vitality, strength of character, business acumen, sincerity and ability to reach across all barriers to create friendships will continue to posture and empower her to do great things in the world. Oprah has promised that every remaining episode of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ will be scrupulously exciting. The world will be watching with gratitude. - Zuria   (P.S.                   Quote:  "Your principal tools are words. You use them to give information, to gather information, to issue information, to plan, to analyze, and to control. Depending on your stage of business practice you use words in different ways. At the stage of the trader, a manager uses words in volume. Rather than blending the differing shades of word meanings, he tends to flood his listener with words. He keeps pouring them on until the listener either agrees or is able to interrupt with a counter-argument.  At this stage the principal method of overcoming resistance is that of talking louder and faster in an attempt to wear down opposition by the weight and strength of the delivery. ...To guide you in your use of words as precision instruments, you can use three principles. I call these the principle of complexity, the principle of distortion and the principle of projection. Treating communication as merely a matter of words can lead to time-consuming misunderstandings and errors. When we are alert we have the choice of using our master tools creatively while avoiding the dangers inherent in their misuse."  - J. McCoy

Healthcare For All.  The U.S. House of Representatives has passed its legislative version of healthcare reform; but debate is continuing across America and in the U.S. Senate. The entire subject has been practically blown out of proportion with objectives of the plan being argued by political sides: Democrats vs. Republicans, conservatives vs. liberals, right vs. left, and wealthy taxpayers vs. the middle-class and the poor. Also in the wake of the plan are arguments of public option vs. private, competition between healthcare insurers, the mandating and control of the cost of healthcare and voluntary or compulsory participation by citizens - in the final analysis. Citizens were being urged to contact appropriate elected representatives in the U.S. House and Senate if they thought it would be helpful and town hall meetings were held. The healthcare issue and legislation was moved with relative speed through the House but arrived in the chambers of the U.S. Senate with at least two flat tires. The American people are becoming confused as information about the reform seems to be disseminated and digested in fragments and compartments. We are being dazzled by deliberate  tactics of great speeches, debate, change and delay while the American people await the historical moment of healthcare reform. Personally we are trying to follow the information, facts, and debate on the issue and the legislation as it is organized and tabulated from news sources and offered on Topix.com .  http://www.topix.com/topstories/health-care

Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff. It is General Ashfaq Purvez Kayani who is currently leading the fight and military affront for Pakistan along the Pakistan-Afghan border region. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with General Kayani and other Pakistani leaders in her visit to the country following a number of serial bombings which killed hundreds in Peshawar. Mrs. Clinton pleaded for Pakistan's help not only in fighting the Taliban militants but also for their help in locating members of Al-Quaida including the capturing of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden. U.S. and NATO forces buffeted by General Kayani and the Pakistani military are trying to win against Taliban militants’ gain of any additional territory or a coup d'etat. Current daily and updated news on General Kayani and the Pakistani Army can be found at: http://www.ispr.gov.pk
